Oaklawn Racing & Gaming has been one of the finest world class thoroughbred horse race tracks in the USA since 1904. It is well known for being the location of the $1,000,000 Arkansas Derby. Today, Oaklawn also offers a full house of fun and excitement day and night, all year long.
Did you know that Oaklawn helped launch the close to perfect racing season of Triple Crown winner American Pharoah in 2015. American Pharaoh was victorious in both the Rebel Stakes as well as the Arkansas Derby on the track to becoming the first horse to win the 3 major thoroughbred races – Kentucky Derby, Preakness and also the Belmont Stakes since Affirmed did it 37 years ago!
Now that’s cause for a celebration! And there will be a lot of that during Oaklawn’s racing season this year. At Stubby’s BBQ, we enjoy having visitors from all over the country stop by for their BBQ fix duringtheir time at Oaklawn. Folks come from California to New York crave our big and meaty ribs and Texas tender brisket dripping with juice. Our ‘ruggedly-hacked pork’ ranges from velvet-soft white meat to chewy bark style, all slathered with our delectably delicious Stubby’s BBQ sauce.
And our chicken is absolutely first class here too! Our BBQ chicken is skin glazed dark, its meat moist and ludicrously tender.
And don’t forget our famous sides! Stubby’s pot-o-beans is larded with hunks of smoky ham and blanketed with sauce.
